A constant topic of conversation in my household has to do with frustration and discontentment over the lack of change in our economy, government, and life in general these past few years. If anything, things are worse now than they were three years ago.
Hidden from the public spin are the multitudes still being laid off from their jobs and the many folks that are barely getting by, quietly sitting by the sidelines of life because they have no other choice. I see it, of course, because I look and I ask questions.
But for the most part, I see a widening chasm of the haves and the have nots. Neither side seems willing to look each other in the face, eyeball to eyeball. Call it embarrassment, call it fear, or call it ambivalence. Whatever it is, it makes me sad while at the same time compels me to hunker down and dig in with my preps and my survival skills. A storm is brewing and it will not be pretty.
In todays blast from the near past, I share an article I wrote asking whether it will take a revolution to affect change. The article still applies today – perhaps even more so.
