Coming to Terms with Government Control

Coming to Terms with Government Control

dnaIs the Government out to get us?  What do you think?

For the past three months, I have sat back and made a noble attempt to absorb the events of the day. Being a seeker of truth and finding clear cut answers lacking, for a while I felt a personal spiraling down as I was unable to connect the dots.

Here are a few key events that formed the basis for this dissonance and this inability to understand what I am being told and what I feel in my heart of hearts:

October 29, 2012: Hurricane Sandy makes hits landfall in the United States causing billions of dollars of destruction to mostly unprepared citizens.

December 14, 2012: A shooter guns down innocent children and six adults at Sandy Hook elementary in Newtown Connecticut.

January 11, 2013: Activist Aaron Swartz is found dead in his apartment of an apparent suicide.

These three events are seemingly unrelated and yet they have one common theme: each is emotionally charged with speculation not only as to what and why but with a lingering question of “who did it?”.

And then finally, a fourth event:

January 16, 2013: President Obama signs numerous Executive Orders on gun control with the stated intent of putting an end to gun violence in the US.

Breaking it all down

Let me address the “who did it” first.

As much as I don’t like to be labeled an advocate of conspiracies, it is difficult to avoid current speculation that natural events can be man-made. For years, our government and the military have been experimenting with cloud seeding and other weather changing tactics. Call it the modern day version of the Native American rain dance if you will but it does exist.  The difference is that these days it is called the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP).  And let us not forget about chemtrails.

Sandy_Hook_MemorialWith the Sandy Hook shootings, to this day there are unanswered questions about the shooter, his motives, good Samaritans labeled bad guys, and media bloopers that announced the shooting before it even happened.  Let me be clear:  I am not saying that I necessarily agree with all of this.  I am simply suggesting, rather strongly, that there are some niggling unanswered questions.

You might be asking:

”Do you think that our government is capable of murder?”.  The PTB may not call it that, but yes I do.

“Do you think the government set this up to find support for disarming the country by taking away firearms owned by private citizens?”  Maybe.

“Why are they doing this?”  Elimination of the middle class and control of the working class . . . among other things.

And then there is Aaron Swartz.  As a former technologist myself, this hit me hard.  A lot of tech and software gurus are brilliant nerds who shun the spotlight.  But in Aaron Swartz we had an exception.

He was an outspoken young man who stepped up to defend our rights over and beyond what he had to do.  Instead of cruising along in life, he was strong enough to speak his mind publicly over and over and over again.  This type of person does not become so despondent that they take their own life.  Instead they retreat, regroup and come out fighting with renewed vigor and inspiration.  Something is fishy here, plain and simple.

It came as no surprise when President Obama made it official: this is America and there will be no more guns in the hands of our citizens.  Okay, those are my words not his but in effect that is what he did by signing  those 26 executive orders on January 16th.  And while this did not come as a surprise, the intensity of how the stroke of his pen divided our country was explosive.

This final event has filled the airwaves, print media and internet with speculation, fear, anger and just about every other emotion you can think of.  In the blogging world  you will find that sites are writing about guns, gun control, ammunition hoarding and firearms shortages and more – on a daily basis.  There does not seem to be an end in sight. – the debate over gun control is everywhere.

Getting to the Point: Are We At the Edge of an Abyss?

As I recently mentioned on my Facebook page, I have been struggling with these events not within the context of a single event, but within the greater context of all of them together. Which gets me to the point of this article.

While natural disasters, senseless shootings and gun control are hot issues, the larger concern today is our migration toward totalitarian government control – control that seems to be playing out right in front of us.  Clearly, to me at least, our government is taking a slow, methodical approach to control its citizens.

Sound scary?  It is, but examples abound.  One example near and not so dear was the creation of elite corporations with executives that are above reproach when it comes to their misdeeds.  This was done was by rewarding their shenanigans with huge sums of money so that they could line their pockets with perks and bonuses while letting people like you and I slip further into the abyss of dependency by taking away our jobs, our homes, and our rightful place in the American Dream.

And then there is the somewhat suspicious push by government to convince our  population that all will be well no matter what if they do just a little bit of prepping to get them by until the government, under the guise of FEMA, comes in to take care of them.  Talk about managing expectations – do a little and get a lot – what dufus thought of that?

Now for sure I am not knocking prepping.  Being prepared is my mantra and I support self-reliance and independence in all aspects of life.  It is the message that the government will roll in to take care of what ails you that I am opposed to.  Like I said, prepare a little, wait for us, and we will take care of you – that is the government message and it is just plain wrong.

You might recall that in  June 2011, the NASA Administrator sent an email to all NASA employees encouraging them to prepare themselves for potential emergencies such as fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, terrorist attacks and other unforeseen catastrophes.  Why then?  And why NASA?  And now we see that the CDC, FDA, EPA and a whole alphabet soup of agencies are getting involved.

Could it be that the uninformed are destined to succumb to a false sense of security?  Is this the first step toward submission and being controlled?  I don’t have an answer to that but it seems likely.

Is it all about division and distraction?

Let’s talk about Obama’s gun control initiative.  Other than the Viet Nam war, I cannot think of any single event that has divided neighbors against neighbors, brothers against sisters, and communities again communities.  Even law enforcement has gotten in the act both for and against each other on this issue.

Think about this:  if we are so distracted by the infighting between gun control factions, how can we pay attention to what is really happening?  What a clever cover-up for clandestine actions that will result in restriction to our movements, our actions and even our ability to live in our own homes.

As we fight among ourselves and argue about the right to bear arms, perhaps we are missing the other traps that are being laid – traps that we do not see because we are so divided and so distracted by the issue of gun control.

My fear is that those traps will eliminate our freedom and lead us into anarchy, tyranny and that dirty word that I call socialism.

If you study Nazi Germany and period before the camps, you will learn that the rank and file population were seduced into thinking everything was a-okay.  The citizens were lured into a false sense of security.  The German government was good. They were helpful.  They wanted you to support the war effort so they helped the businesses and  factories by providing them with lucrative contracts and extra labor.

Of course we now know what really happened.  The Nazi’s took over businesses once their own people knew how to run them and sent the owners and their families to their deaths.

The Final Word

Except for the various events which have indeed taken place, what I have said today is all speculation on the part of a prepper lady who perchance thinks too much about the worst that can happen.  Call me crazy but some of these thoughts come from my own firsthand experience with FEMA (see FEMA Faceoff: Truth as an Urban Legend) and my distrust of the Washington power elites in general.

So am I right?  Who knows and perhaps it does not matter.  I share these thoughts today to advise you to avoid distraction, to open your eyes and to stay alert and aware.  Look beyond the headlines and beyond the distractions that may be preventing you from noticing what is really taking place in our country and in our world.

I hope to heck that I am off base and 100% wrong.  But I don’t think so.

Enjoy your next adventure through common sense and thoughtful preparation!

The originator of this article is unknown.
“Let me explain, gun grabbers, how your confiscatory fantasy plays out.
Let us imagine for a moment that a sweeping gun control bill similar to the one currently suggested is passed by the House and Senate, and signed into law by a contemptuous President.

Perhaps 50-100 million firearms currently owned by law-abiding citizens will become contraband with the stroke of a pen. Citizens will either register their firearms, or turn them in to agents of the federal government, or risk becoming criminals themselves. Faced with this choice, millions will indeed register their arms. Perhaps as many will claim they have sold their arms, or had them stolen. Suppose that as many as 200-250 million weapons of other types will go unregistered.

Tens of millions of Americans will refuse to comply with an order that is clearly a violation of the explicit intent of the Second Amendment. Among the most ardent opposing these measures will be military veterans, active duty servicemen, and local law enforcement officers. Many of these individuals will refuse to carry out what they view as constitutionally illegal orders. Perhaps 40-50 million citizens will view such a law as treason. Perhaps ten percent of those, 4-5 million, would support a rebellion in some way, and maybe 40,000-100,000 Americans will form small independently-functioning active resistance cells, or become lone-wolves.

They will be leaderless, stateless, difficult to track, and considering the number of military veterans that would likely be among their number, extremely skilled at sabotage, assassination, and ambush.

After a number of carefully-planned, highly-publicized, and successful raids by the government, one or more will invariably end badly.. Whether innocents are gunned down, a city block is burned to ash, or especially fierce resistance leads to a disastrously failed raid doesn’t particularly matter. What matters is that when illusion of the governments invincibility and infallibility is broken, the hunters will become the hunted.

Unnamed citizens and federal agents will be the first to die, and they will die by the dozens and maybe hundreds, but famous politicians will soon join them in a spate of revenge killings, many of which will go unsolved.

Ironically, while the gun grab was intended to keep citizens from preserving their liberties with medium-powered weapons, it completely ignored the longer-ranged rifles perfect for shooting at ranges far beyond what a security detail can protect, and suppressed .22LR weapons proven deadly in urban sniping in Europeand Asia.

While the Secret Service will be able to protect the President in the White House, he will not dare leave his gilded cage except in carefully controlled circumstances. Even then he will be forced to move like a criminal. He will never be seen outdoors in public again. Not in this country.

The 535 members of the House and Senate in both parties that allowed such a law to pass would largely be on their own; the Secret Service is too small to protect all of them and their families, the Capitol Police too unskilled, and competent private security not particularly interested in working against their own best interests at any price.

The elites will be steadily whittled down, and if they can not be reached directly, the targets will become their staffers, spouses, children, and grandchildren. Grandstanding media figures loyal to the regime would die in droves, executed as enemies of the Republic.

You can expect congressional staffs to disintegrate with just a few shootings, and expect elected officials themselves to resign well before a quarter of their number are eliminated, leaving us with a boxed-in executive, his cabinet loyalists trapped in the same win, die, or flee the country circumstance, military regime loyalists, and whatever State Governors who desire to risk their necks as well.

Here, the President will doubtlessly order the activation of National Guard units and the regular military to impose martial law, setting the largest and most powerful military in the world against its own people. Unfortunately, the tighter the President clinches his tyrannical fist, the more rebels he makes.

Military commands and federal agencies will be whittled down as servicemen and agents will desert or defect. Some may leave as individuals; others may join the Rebellion in squad and larger-sized units with all their weapons, tactics, skills, and insider intelligence. The regime will be unable to trust its own people, and because they cannot trust them, they will lose more in a vicious cycle of collapse.

Some of these defectors will be true operators, with the skills and background to turn ragtag militia cells into the kind of forces that decimate loyalist troops, allowing them no rest and no respite, striking them when they are away from their most potent weapons. Military vehicles are formidable, but they are thirsty beasts, in terms of fuel, ammo, time, and maintenance. Tanks and bombers are formidable only when they have gas, guns, and can be maintained. In a war without a front, logistics are incredibly easy to destroy, and mechanics and supply clerks are not particularly adept at defending themselves.

Eventually, the government will turn upon itself. The President will be captured or perhaps killed by his own protectors. A dictatorship will form in the vacuum.

If we’re lucky, the United States of America, or whatever amalgam results, will again try to rebuild. If we’re very lucky, the victors will reinstate the Constitution as the law of the land. Just as likely though, we will face fractious civil wars fought over issues we have not begun to fathom, and a much diminished state or states will result, perhaps guided by foreign interests.

It will not be pretty.. There will be no winners, and perhaps hundreds of thousands to millions of dead.

Yet, this is the future we face if the power-mad among us are not soundly defeated at the ballot box before they affect more change than we, the People, are willing to surrender to would-be tyrants.”

“Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading”.–Thomas Jefferson

    • Interesting thought. You should think about writing a book. My fear is that groups will form and try to take on the government loyalist head on. I believe small groups cutting off the heads of the beast will be best.

    • Well thought out James! I can invasion this exactly as you describe it! Scary stuff. So hard to fathom knowing the America I grew up in.

    • Now that Obamacare is the law of the land, the white house, senate, congress all want to be exempt, plus their aids. They are to good for a program like that, it just good for you!

    • James….thank you for your vision of the future….those of us who will go willingly into harms way can only prepare for the worst and hope for the best…pray for the best….

  2. Excellent thoughts and commentary, Gaye. I think it’s time we began preparing to live in a dreadful totalitarian society. It’s a bitter pill, but people in many other countries have survived it. What do we need to learn? More about the underground economy? Black markets? Evasiveness? Remember, we’re talking about survival, not prosperity and life as we’ve known it to this point.

  3. This has been going on for over 30 years. If you look at what the government has tried to do to take control of not only the people of the US but to other countries, you will see a pattern. This country died Nov. 22, 1963, he was going to make a better country and a better world but the money changers were not happy and put a STOP to it. I WORKED for the federal government for 35 years, I know what bastards they really are and they will do anything to get their way. BTW, the president and congress do not run this country, the money changers do. Remember that!!!

  5. Gaye….Thank you for putting into writing what a lot of us feel and believe. I’m 64 yrs. old and I watch as things like the Patriotic Act comes into existence. My god, can there be anything more anti american, anti freedom than that monster. Wasn’t it Ben Franklin who said those who put security before Liberty deserve neither?…I’m afraid for the country I used to know…it no longer exists. I don’t know what to do…I guess I’m kinda waiting for a strong leader to lead us back to where we were, certainly not the one we have in the White House today. From my cold dead fingers is not just a saying…its a true die hard belief…I pray it doesn’t come to Civil War….Thanks again Gaye…you are very special and keep writing what you believe….Love ya..Rusty

  6. Thank you for your comments, Gaye! Like you, I have been watching the whole picture and don’t like what I am seeing, but am keeping my eyes open so that I can be ready and keep my family safe.

  7. Gaye, I worked for this government for 28 years but took an early retirement because I could not tolerate the fact that not only this country but the entire world is facing a true catastrophe and nothing is being done to warn the populace of the fact. Earth changes are already taking place due to a planet sized object that entered our solar system in 1983 that is highly magnetized and interacting with the other planets. It is now causing changes in our weather, increasing number of earthquakes, volcanos coming to life, etc.

The establishment has been covering this up for fear they will lose control when people (they call them sheeple, unwashed masses, usesless eaters, among other terms) discover what is about to happen. This planet will not collide with Earth but it’s close passage will create all sorts of disasters due to the magnetics of Earth reacting to the magnetics of “X” and many will die. Already many are awakening to this incoming catastrophe which happens every 3657 years as the planets orbit brings it back time and time again. All this is well documented in ancient history which has been severely suppressed.

I know you and George Ure and Clif High are non-believers in this planet, but if you would just vist the website (poleshift.ning), it will bring you up to date on the events now taking place, and there are many. At least make the site available to your readers so they can make up their own minds. This event is what you have been preparing for all these years….

The establishment has been preparing – at taxpayer’s expense – palatial underground hidey holes to protect themselves when the time comes. They plan on emerging from their holes after the passage and pick up where they left off. They don’t care how many may die from this disaster because they feel that Earth needs to be de-polulated anyway. The survivors can serve them as slaves. They will be sadly mistaken however.

Right now the elites are preparing for what will happen when the people discover they have been deceived all these years; riots for sure, with a breakdown in civil order, and the whole way of life as we know it will be completely changed. I don’t think they have much time left to confiscate all the weapons in peoples hands. Earth is already showing much stress from this incoming body. Please make the website I mentioned available to all your readers. The government has been trying for years to take it down so that should tell you something. They use it to gain information that is not available to them. Thanks for all your prepping ideas.

  8. Hi everyone – I just want to thank all of you for your comments. I am crazy busy with work this month and next and apologize that I cannot respond personally. But I do read everything and appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with both me and my readers.

These are scary times and I don’t see things getting better in the near future. Guess we all better keep on prepping!

    — Gaye

  9. You jumped the shark. You’ve gone from legitimate prepper to conspiracy scare monger. I did not realize how much of a nutter you were until I read this article. You actually believe the government caused the superstorm sandy weather. Thank you. I will not have to return to your website again.

    • I was going to post a comment similar to Joe”s. One thing that needs correcting in your article is that O issued 16 “Executive actions” suggestions. Quite different from Executive Orders. I have been reading George for several years and you for a long time. I think you are buying into theories that are way out there. It’s your right. I have lately had to step back and take a lot of what I read on the internet with a grain of salt for fear that I buy into someone’s nightmare. I lean way toward your writings but this one got me. Just sayin

  10. Your commentary “Coming to Terms with Government Control” explains so well the seriousness of what is truly happening. Your awareness and your honesty is appreciated. Your message needs to be heard by all true Americans. I would only like to offer a word of encouragement and emphasize how important it is for ALL true Americans to stand-up to those who seek to oppress us and destroy our great nation. NOW is the time. And the best and most effective way for all of to succeed in doing that is to SHARE INFORMATION such as you have with as many family-friends-neighbors-co-workers…everyone! It’s amazing what a difference each of us… together… can accomplish. Thank you, Gaye, for doing so much for all of us in this extraordinary time.

  11. Good article, Gaye.

At this point, it looks like the dark side is winning. America never fought an unjust war. America is a beacon on a hill. Those were the images I was brought up on. But the realities of torture, of Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib, have stained that image. Shades of German jackboots.

Brain-drain will be our undoing. If, today, right now, you were Albert Einstein in Germany, to where would you choose to relocate? To here? To the land of secret renditions and home of the drones? There will be no more Einsteins coming here. The Einsteins of the world will go elsewhere. And that seals our fate

  12. Well said, Gaye. I am far from a conspiracy theorist – but I’d be blind if I didn’t see many of these recent events as false flags. This is certainly a different America than what I grew up in. North Korea Nukes, Immigration, Gun Regulation, Mideast conflicts…. and an American president that sees himself as supreme dictator with complete power…. yeah, you better believe something is up somewhere – and I’m pretty sure there are a lot of smoke and mirrors going on to keep us from the core changes that await us.

  13. Ron Brown, The only war that the Unites States ever fough that was not unjust, was the war for indenpendence, all the rest were a waste of money and lives (on both sides).

  14. I have really appreciated your practical posts in the past, but I am no longer able to trust your posts after this one. You are definately entitled to your opnion, I just happen to disagree. I wish you the best, and thank you for the useful information you have posted in the past. Peace be with you.

  15. Is the Government out to get us? What do you think?

The short answer is yes. Gayle I really appreciate the points you made above.

  16. You see in this world there are two kinds of people, my friend.

Those with loaded guns and those who dig.

    You dig.

Blondie in “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”

  17. I wasn’t aware that I was following a conspiracy website but now that I am, I will be leaving. I am all for the 1st and 2nd Amendments but there has to be some limits. If you guys want to spend your time taking every thing that is said or done as someone (government) trying to take away your rights, be my guest. I have a life to live and things to do and no time to be making everything into a conspiracy. I feel very sorry for your children that they are being raised to fear the government and think that someone is always out to get them. It doesn’t let them enjoy their childhoods. I have seen too many people on FB and Twitter spout lies and theories that make about as much sense as a hat on a rock. I found that on here tonight as well.

  18. It’s unfortunate for those that must live in a “duality” paradigm… that is having to be “either-or” for everything. Democrat or Republican… left or right… prepper or live care-free. It is so amazing that those who think being “aware and prepared” must mean that while being aware and prepared you cannot at the same time be living an “enjoyable and happy life”. I have a daughter (age 27) who is not only living an enjoyable and happy life… but is also aware and prepared for the very real possibilities that can happen. She understands what “Normalcy Bias” is all about. I’m glad that I did not raise her with only one eye open…

  19. Concerned Observer . . . thank you for introducing me to the term “Normalcy Bias.” I’d not heard it before. Wikipedia has a few paragraphs on the topic that are well worth the time to read. Unfortunately, I think Normalcy Bias describes most of my relatives . . .

  20. Is “The Government” out to get us?
First you have to know something about what or who the government is. Is it an organization like the KKK, where members go through indoctrination and initiation rituals and swear loyalty or death? If you believe that then you must also believe that all elections are completely controlled by the “Grand Master” or “Fuerer” or whomever. How else could the lid be kept on millions of government employees?

No, I don’t think you believe that. You probably believe in a somewhat more limited, less monolithic one. There certainly ARE food and drug conspiracies, but these are fragmented and, though they “use” the “government”, they try to keep their illegalities hidden. Otherwise the enforcement branches would not cooperate.

The key to “finding truth” as you call it, is being objective. That means not assuming facts not in evidence. It also means facing a certain amount of uncertainty. Sometimes a LOT. It’s good to be suspicious. It’s bad to base opinions on nothing else. Or to not even do an analysis on the facts present.

The only reason I see for those leaving because of your conspiracy bias, is they don’t want to deal with the issue. A “head in the sand” attitude. We certainly SHOULD deal with these possibilities/fears, but going off half cocked can, as you point out, cause the paranoid to miss the real dangers while obsessing over their “theory”.

I hope you won’t do that, or encourage others to do so.

  21. I don’t understand the people who say they are leaving because of this article. Closed minded will not get you anywhere, if you really and truly believe what Gaye is saying is wrong you need to open your mind. Dispose of the blinders, that will hold you back more than anything. For those that leave because of this article I feel you will never truly “see” anything. Great job Gaye. Thank you and God bless.
