I grew up in a modest Seattle neighborhood where everyone knew each other and we all left our back door’s unlocked. The front door was for company or strangers whereas our friends and family and those with the spirit of a new adventure ventured around the side of the house to back door.
Alas, times are different today and for many, the thought of leaving a door unlocked is unheard of. And so the traditional, always-open physical back door is gone, replaced by a virtual backdoor instead – ready to surprise and delight with new inspiration and alternatives for living life to the fullest.
Backdoor Survival is here to provide lifestyle tools, tips, and thoughts to guide you through the back door of life in the 21st century. The practical, the thoughtful, and a bit of the magical are all here to catch you by surprise, to make you think, to ask you to consider doing things in a different way. Not better. Not worse. Just different.
We have many challenges ahead of us: economic, political, environmental and more. Here at Backdoor Survival, I want to address life’s challenges by looking forward and by assisting you to manage your future with optimism and grace. And perhaps with a tip or two to help you along your way.
