Listed below are some additional web sites, blogs, and resources that I find interesting and useful.
Have something you think I would find interesting? Drop me a line here.
The Preparedness Lifestyle
George Ure’s Urban Survival: Replaying 1929 – Long Wave Economic News & Analysis. This is the site that started it all. From my long term friend, George Ure who also produces the weekend Peoplenomics news brief.
The SHTF Plan: The tagline says it all: “When It Hits The Fan, Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You”. This is an excellent site (a SurvivalWoman favorite) that covers a myriad of topics. Mac posts original content himself as well as the best of the best content from other sources.
The Retreat: Bushcraft, survival and preparedness skills plus lots of reviews of some pretty neat stuff. Badvoodoodaddy has an immense knowledge of firearms and all things outdoors.
The Survivalist Blog dot Net: Great site with tips and tools for both beginning and experienced preppers
Modern Survival Online: Thoughts on Survival and the World Today
Canadian Doomer: A delightful, fun and useful site. Canadian Doomer has put together an Anthill, featuring folks online who are busy preparing their homes, lives and families for an uncertain future.
Advanced Survival Guide: An interesting and informative site featuring a myriad of disaster preparedness and self-reliance information and tools. The site has a lot of information available for download and is especially strong in the area of Ham Radio operations. Check it out!
Prepping to Survive: Preparing to survive the end of the world as we know it. This is a visually gorgeous site. The photos themselves are worth a look but the content is original and informative as well. I love this site!
The Apartment Prepper’s Blog: Tips and steps to become better prepared and self-sufficient while living in an apartment in a large city. Plus a whole lot more.
Shepherd School: What first attracted me to this site was the header “In a world of wolves don’t be a sheep”. In addition to a wealth of information about firearms (one of the best I have seen), there are common sense solutions and tips for prepping in general and a nice selection of free downloads.
The Survival Mom: The Survival Mom dishes advice on how to prepare for everything from a natural disaster to financial crisis – and everything in between.
Tactical Intelligence: Learn the tactics you need to intelligently survive and thrive in good times and in bad. This is quality content all the way on topics that you don’t see everywhere.
Modern Survival Blog: This is a common sense, results oriented blog with a lot of useful and practical how-to tips (including downloads) for becoming self-sufficient in anticipation of the hard times ahead. One thing I like about this site is that the articles are unique and not just your run-of-the-mill survival and prepper stuff.
Outdoors Native: This site is about everything and anything outdoors, from camping to fishing and backpacking to hunting. There is a lot of good – and well vetted – information here. Be sure to check out the “Tactical” section.
Prepper Website: The latest addition to my recommended sites is the Prepper Website. Think of this site as your one-stop page for the very best the web has to offer in terms of survival, preparedness and alternative news. Be sure to read about Todd, the site owner – he has an interesting story as to how the site came to be. Also – and this is important – check out his “Open Letter to Family and Friends”. Print out the letter and hand it to friends and family that shun being prepared. And thank you, Todd, for making this letter available to all of us.
Doctor Bones and Nurse Amy: Dr.Bones is an M.D. and Nurse Amy is A Nurse Practitioner who want you to be prepared. They have a weekly radio show on the Preparedness Radio Network where they share their insights on medical preparedness and so much more!
Pioneer Handbooks: Free downloads of how-to, DIY and recipes from the pioneers and settlers of the 1800s.
Prep-Blog: A well-written survival blog for the non-survivalist, the Prep-Blog offers a moderate approach to prepping for everyday types of disasters.

The Home for Survival: This site is run by a father, a son, a brother and a SHTF planning enthusiast. Their mission is to provide the most current, relevant and insightful survival content on the web. In addition, they periodically put up some original and relevant blog articles.
Alternative New Sources – The Real News
Activist Post: Early in 2011, I was contacted by Activist Post and was asked to become one of their select stable of Contributing Writers. I was both humbled and thrilled by this opportunity. Each day you will find about a dozen of the most urgent topics in our world today addressed on the pages of Activist Post. There are articles, videos and more, all of which are fodder for progressive thinking.
Survival Week: Survival Week is a prepping and survival news aggregator with a myriad of contemporaneous information and every topic imaginable. Beans, bullets, band aids, black swans and more. (And of course they feature lots of great info from Backdoor Survival!)
Truth is Treason: This is an independent news, media and preparedness source. What sets it apart from many news aggregators is that Kevin Hayden (Mr. Truth is Treason) does not just post the latest headlines and articles, he adds his own unique take on the written word – for better or for worse. I read this blog daily and so should you.
Wake Up World: The mission of this alternate news site is to consciously awaken as many souls as possible by providing alternative news & information. The site embodies truth, critical thinking and an alternative voice to the mass media. For those of us in North America, it also represents a voice from down under in Australia.
