Print Friendly

If you are a coffee-lover, you probably already have a thousand coffee filters stored away in your survival pantry.  But wait!  Coffee filters are useful for lots of things besides filtering coffee.

I will be first to admit that there are a lot of lists floating around with suggested uses for coffee filters but most include all kinds of uses that are nice, but totally irrelevant to the prepper.  After all, if you are in experiencing hard times, or a survival situation, do you really care about preventing your fine china from chipping?

Earlier this year I posted an article with 29 great uses of coffee filters for survival purposes.  It became one of my all-time most popular articles.  Who would have thought?

In cased you missed it, here it is again!

  1. You can use coffee filters and a large coffee urn to purify water in a pinch. Crush charcoal, place between layers of coffee filters if your handy with a sewing machine you can sew them shut. Put 5 homemade filters in the top of the coffee urn, pour in water, let it drip thru. Works like a store bought water filter pitcher.

  2. Check out the Aerobie Press coffee press. It’s great, lightweight, unbreakable and makes awesome coffee in seconds. I use it every morning. Gave as gifts to all my friends. I have one tucked away with a cuissential hand grinder in case I need it.
    Thanks for the information.
